A Twist on Shibori – A Contemporary Approach

Shibori refers to a group of wrapping, tying, folding and stitching techniques used to create pattern on fabric. In this comprehensive study, we start with the basics using fiber reactive dyes, acid dyes, and paints but then move on to other media to see how they affect the process including discharge and a few of my own.  This is an opportunity to concentrate on and push the boundaries of the shibori process.  The result is fabric with many applications including artwork and fashion.   This class is open to all levels of study with something for everyone.
