Introductory Class: Join guest artist Jamie Kirkell for this exciting, fun, and stimulating 3- day introductory workshop.  We will explore design and color and paint florals on silk. This class is taught in an open, relaxed manner and geared for anyone interested in exploring silk painting. Beginning students will get a good foundation in silk painting and experienced artists will be able to take their work to the next level. We will make three beautiful scarves, and the class will feature a scarf fashion show at the end. A complete kit, a frame and three silk scarves will be provided. (Materials fee: $65)

Day 1: Introduction of participants, setting up work stations, intro to painting on silk, painting color on silk, using wax resist, Introduction to design and color theory drawing of leaves and flowers (this part takes a large part of morning and early afternoon). and painting designs on first silk scarf.

Day2: Continue with design theory and painting on silk, coping of silk design to silk, introduce special Techniques, start 3rd silk abstract or non gutta.

Day 3: Finish 2nd scarf  Continue with and finish 3rd scar. Presentation of Master Batik Bambang Oetoros’s Batiks and short talk.  Fashion show. End of workshop.
