Fiber & Wax: Textiles, Plants & Encaustic
Alaina’s work explores the intersection of textiles, natural materials, and encaustic wax. In this workshop, students will deconstruct and reassemble materials, using wax to embed, preserve, and transform surfaces in a process that echoes cycles of growth and decay. -
Japanese Boro Pouch: Sakiori Weaving & Sashiko Stitching
Rooted in Japanese textile traditions, Atsuko teaches the art of transforming cloth through reuse and repair. Students will explore sakiori weaving and sashiko stitching to create a functional boro-style pouch, honoring the history and philosophy of mending and material longevity. -
Japanese Papermaking & Bookbinding Intensive
A skilled papermaker and book artist, Anne guides students through the full process of creating handmade paper and transforming it into bound forms. This immersive experience connects material, structure, and storytelling through traditional and contemporary book arts techniques. -
Layered Cloth: Intuitive Monoprint & Stitch
Cheryl’s work blends printmaking and textile processes in a fluid, intuitive way. Students will explore monoprint techniques on cloth and combine them with stitching to build layered, expressive surfaces. -
It’s All About the Box
A paper artist focused on structure and form, Claudia teaches students to construct durable, sculptural boxes using handmade and commercial papers. Surface design, stitching, and collage can be incorporated, turning functional forms into expressive objects.
