Fall Retreat Supply List
Eco-Printing, Stitching & Independent Studio Practice
This retreat is designed as an immersive, communal making experience. While we will have short introductory workshops with Theresa Brown (eco-printing on leather) and Claudia Lee (stitching on paper), the majority of your time is open for independent exploration and personal work.
You are encouraged to bring a variety of materials and projects—this is your time to deepen your practice, experiment freely, and work alongside others in a shared creative environment.
We will also have an indigo vat available for shibori. Suzanne will provide a selection of shibori tools and supplies for shared use, but you are welcome to bring your own tools and materials if you have specific techniques you’d like to explore. Suzanne will also bring some shibori stencils you are welcome to use, and she will be available to assist you with the stitching
Botanical materials are abundant on-site and may be foraged during the retreat, adding another layer of connection to place and process. (bring clippers)

A Note from the Studio
This retreat is intentionally spacious. The workshops are meant to inspire and introduce techniques—but the true value is in the time to work, reflect, and create in community.
Bring what excites you. Bring what you’ve been meaning to finish. Bring what you’re curious about.
There is room here for all of it.
Cabins
If staying in the cabins onsite, you may wish to bring your own pillow, the cabins are rustic and some of the furnishings have not been updated in a while. the kitchens seem to be pretty well stocked with dishes, pots/pans and utensils. You will need to get your own paper products. (there are dish towels)
Also bring a beach towel in case we go tubing.
Outdoor chair if driving.
Also don’t forget a swimsuit/ sun shirt, any special snacks.
There is a convenience store just a few miles away, however the closest grocery stores will be the IGA in
McCayesville (you will pass if coming from Atlanta via Blue Ridge) or there are an Ingles and Walmart in Murphy (about 30 minutes)
I have found in the past a Grocery run is made every few days.
You will also want to stop in route if you want adult beverages.
