This was the second class I have taken at Aya with Jeanne Brady, and it did not disappoint. Learning a plethora of surface design techniques during the course of four days was a wonderful experience. Jeanne’s teaching style is detailed and calming. Most of the class is spent practicing any and all techniques that suit your fancy, while Jeanne constantly circulates, giving pointers in a caring but constructive manner. I will definitely sign up for next year’s class with this wonderful artist and instructor.

Jiyoung is the most generous teacher, sharing her knowledge and passion with us. Suzanne and Aya Fiber Studio was a very gracious host, allowing us to spread out take over the space for the week. Communication and registration was easy as we were coming from Ohio and needed to ship supplies ahead of time. I look forward to taking more classes at Aya.

It was an honor to take the Kakishibu Persimmon Tannin and Indigo Discharge class with Ana Lisa Hedstrom, and I’m so thankful this inspiring class was offered at Aya Fiber Studio. Ana Lisa’s wealth of knowledge, combined with her inclusive and inspiring teaching style, made for a class filled with both instruction and room for individual creativity. Aya Fiber Studio always provides the best instructors and the perfect studio space for a multitude of fiber art techniques.

Mary Hark is a wonderful teacher and an inspiration in the art of paper making. I started the class with no knowledge of the medium and finished with a burning desire to learn more.
Suzanne runs a fabulous studio for the creation of all different types of art work. I felt the facilities were top notch.

Patterning the Pattern exceeded my expectations! I haven’t sewn in many years and this workshop has re-ignited my interest. I also appreciated exploring different techniques for adding color and interest to my textiles and look forward to bringing these ideas into my art practice. Thank you Amy for sharing your expertise and your love of your craft! Thank you Suzanne for the beautiful studio space to create in!

Very nice studio, well-appointed in a good location. Suzanne is very knowledgeable and helpful. The workshop offerings are excellent. I recently experienced the Stitch and Structure workshop for 3 days with artist and instructor Susan Stover of C2C art. We had plenty of space to work, it wasn’t crowded with too many participants as sometimes can be the case. Sue Stover was always available to help with our individual projects, as well as sharing her process and her wealth of knowledge and experience while giving us inspiration through presentation and demonstration. I only hope that this workshop will return again to Aya Studio and add a few days to the length! Ps. Downtown Stuart is a lively and fun place with shops and restaurants by the water. Very enjoyable in my experience.

Aya Fiber Studio workshops are intentionally small and deeply focused.
This is not casual learning—it is an environment designed for artists who want to understand materials, refine technique, and develop their voice through practice.
For many students, it becomes a place they return to—again and again.
